Mixing Calculator

PsyCalc's mixing airstream calculator is a quick easy way to calculate the mixed air conditions that result from mixing two airstreams.

The Mixing Calculator operates with many of the same features as other modes. Inputting values, using Spin Buttons and Selecting Input and Output units operate as they do in the PsyCalc psychrometric property look up mode.

To perform the mixing calculations Air Flow Rates of the two airstreams to be mixed must be specified. These can be specified in at Standard Conditions or at the Actual Conditions. Select from the following Flow Rate Units Types for the airstreams A, B and C:

Type

English

SI

Standard

SCFM

SCMH

Actual

ACFM

ACMH

The flow rate values are entered in the input boxes to the left of their respective units selection box. Each flow rate input box has a Spin button to its right that can be used to increment or decrement the flow rate value.

To change the mixing ratio between the two airstreams A and B use the mixing ratio slider. To change the mixing ratio:

click and slide the slider or

click on the slider bar next to the slider or

click the left or right arrows at the slider ends

Changing the mixing ratio in this manner does not affect the total air flow at C. The mixing ratio slider is currently available when all three airstream units are Standard type.
