All Design Data

This screen shows all of the data from ASHRAE's Climatic Design Information table for a single location. The 2005 ASHRAE Fundaments Handbook increased the number of locations from 1456 to 5564. For some locations not all data is available. In these cases "N/A" is displayed in place of missing data.

Top Section - Location Selector and Screen Configuration

Country, State/Providence and City drop-down boxes are used to select a location. To save a location so it will appear first click the "Save Location" button.

If you are not sure what location to use the search by long/lat screen may help you find it. Click here to see the Find Location screen.

The elevation, latitude and longitude are displayed for the current location.

All values may be displayed in English (I-P) or Metric (SI) units. Click the corresponding option button.

Cooling Section (yellow background)
The three data sets, DB/MCWB, WB/MCDB, DP/MCDB and h/MCDB with each of their cummulative frequencies 0.4%, 1% and 2% are displayed. For each, use the drop-down box to select one other property to be displayed. These values are calculated based on the respective design conditions.

Extreme and daily range values for cooling are provided as well.

Click and hold the mouse button down over text in this section to view a brief description of the value.

Wind Section (green background)
This section displays ASHRAE's values for Mean Wind Speed and the Predominant Wind direction coincident with the 0.4% cooling dry bulb value and the 99.6% dry bulb heating value.

Annual Design Values for 1%, 2% and 5% cummulative frequencies are also shown.

Click and hold the mouse button down over text in this section to view a brief description of the value.

Heating and Humidification Section (blue background)
The three data sets, DB/MCWB and DP/MCDB with each of their cummulative frequencies 99.6%, and 99% are displayed. For each, use the drop-down box to select one other property to be displayed. These values are calculated based on the respective design conditions.

Coldest month data includes wind speed values and the mean coincedent dry bulb temperatures for the 0.4% and 1% monthly cummulative frequencies.

In addition extreme minimum dry bulb and standard deviation are shown.

Click and hold the mouse button down over text in this section to view a brief description of the value.

Historical Section (peach background)
ASHRAE published values for extreme temperatures (min and max) for 5, 10 20 and 50 year periods.
